Dell - case studies

Who are they?
Dell Business Services helps organisations with IT and business operations. Their work includes IT and cloud transformation, business process services, and large-scale IT technology deployments.
What did they need?
Dell relied on case studies of successful, large-scale projects and installations for new business development. The trick was to hit all the usual case study elements - challenges, solution, benefits, key metrics and more - but to find a story or angle in each project that would keep bored CIOs reading.
As such, these case studies more in common with magazine articles than most business document.

What did I do?
To find the story, I conducted a series of interviews, first with the technical team at Dell, then with the project owner - usually a CIO or CTO on the customer side. From these interviews, a 2,500 (ish) word case study would emerge.
The variety of clients, industries and solutions, meant each case study was it's own challenge - whether it was writing about the Dell technology used by research scientists at CERN, or how it was helping Formula 1 teams gain vital speed on the racetrack.
